Hails from Columbus, Ohio where he is an accompanist for modern, jazz, ballet and world dance classes at The Ohio State University, Ohio Wesleyan University and BalletMet.  Since receiving a composition degree from The Ohio State University in 1993, Brian has composed for, played trombone and piano for, and toured and recorded with groups such as Mary Adam 12, Syrup, New Basics Brass Band, Pica Huss, The New Bomb Turks, The Spectre and AvantCollective.  He is the co-leader of and composes extensively for Honk, Wail and Moan, which recently released the CD Saturn Swings on his Uff Da Music label.  He is also composer and accompanist in residence for The Wexner Center's Silent Film Series in Columbus.  Brian's work has been seen at OSU and beyond with many choreographers.  Work with the University Dance Company included recreating and performing the music for Joe Chvala's Red Walls and the composition of the music score for Tere O'Connor's Cry Baby and Life Song.  In addition, Brian's music for O'Connor premiered at The Colorado Dance Festival this summer.  Other dance scores have been seen with choreographers Gina Jacobs at The Joyce Soho, Andrea Woods at DTW, and Stacy Reischman at The Cunningham Studio in New York; and with Sara Wookey in Bremen, Germany and Amsterdam.  Brian's composing and performing led to the receipt of an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Ohio Arts Council in 1995, to being named "A Person To Watch in 1996" by Columbus Monthly magazine, and to the receipt of a travel grant from the OAC in 2000.
